Wuxi Railway Station Guides
Opened in 1905 and expanded in 1915 and 2018, Wuxi Railway Station (Chinese name 无锡站, Wuxi Zhan) is located in Liangxi District, in the downtown of Wuxi. It covers 57,000 square metres, and has 7 platforms, 12 railway tracks. Wuxi Railway Station combines both ordinary passenger train station (denoted with letter Z/T/K) and high-speed train station(G/D/C series) that serves 86 high-speed trains and bullet trains per day, including Shanghai-Nanjing intercity Rails.
Station Layout
The station is divided into two section: the southern terminal + South Square, and northern terminal + North Square. The southern terminal serves mainly for ordinary trains that contains 7 lines and 4 platforms. The northern terminal serves mainly for high-speed trains that contains 5 lines and 3 platforms. The two sections is connected by one 200 metres pedestrian bridge. Passengers need to assure their kinds of train first, and then get to the right entrances, south entrance or north entrance.

Departures
Step 1: Get to the entrance of Wuxi Railway Station by metro line 1, Taxi, Bus or Car 45 minutes before train departure.
Step 2: Go through Security Check and real-name ID check to enter departure Hall by showing passport.
Step 3: Find the Boarding Gate (Ticket Check Gate). The gate No. will be in the confirmation email we send to you.
Step 4: Have a seat near the gate to wait for check-in and boarding. The boarding gate will be opened 20 - 15 minutes prior to the departure time.
Step 5: Ticket check. Please show your passport and confirmation No. to station staff to check in. The boarding gate will be closed 5 minutes before the train departs

Do you need to collect train tickets?
Since Dec 2019, the electronic tickets have been available on most high-speed and bullet train routes from or to Wuxi Railway Station.
It means international travellers can show their passports, likes Chinese ID to check in and board the train directly, and don't need to collect the printed tickets at ticket office.
