How to get to Shanghai South Railway Station by Metro, Taxi or Bus
Shanghai South Railway Station is located in Xuhui district, 9km southwest of Shanghai downtown. Public transports are included metro line 1, line 3, bus and taxi. Metro trains are mostly recommended. Get the Map
Option 1, Metro line 1, line 3
Shanghai railway station can be reached by Metro Line 1 and Line 3 of the Shanghai Metro system. Metro trains are mostly recommended public transport to get to Shanghai South Railway Station, including from the downtown, Hongqiao Airport and Pudong Airport
Platforms and tracks of metro line 1 are on B2, platforms and tracks of metro line 3 are on 1F. The station halls of two metro lines are on B1, the transfer between line 1 and line 3 is one underground passage.
Metro Line 1: the first metro train is at 05:40 and the last is at 23:00
Metro Line 3: the first metro train is at 06:05 and the last is at 23:00
Metro ticket price is RMB3-RMB7

Option 2, Taxi
Taxi is one convenient and fast, but also the most expensive way to get to Shanghai South Railway Station.
Taxi drop-off areas on the 2F and the pick-up areas are on 1F.

Option 3, Bus
There is one bus stations on north square and one bus station on South square. Total 22 bus routes to or pass Shanghai South Railway Station, including bus lines 14, 867 etc.
But the buses are not recommended to foreign passengers, because most bus stops are in Chinese and few bus crew or driver can speak English.
