Inter-terminal Transportation between T2, T3 and T5

Xi’an Xianyang International Airport provides multiple transfer options between T2, T3 and T5. T2 and T3 are connected by an indoor landside walking corridor. T5 is a separate building located further away. All landside transfers require exiting security. Airside transfers must use dedicated airside shuttle bus.

1. Free Rainbow Landside Shuttle Bus (Recommended for most travellers)

• Service Hours: 24 hours every day
• Frequency: Every 15 minutes, shortened to every 10 minutes during flight peak periods.
• Boarding Locations (outside exit on arrival floor):
  • Terminal 2: Exit 213
  • Terminal 3: Exit 316
  • Terminal 5: Exit 512
• Travel Duration:
  • T2 to T3: 4–8 minutes
  • T2 or T3 to T5: 10–15 minutes
• Fare: Free of charge. Suitable for passengers with checked baggage.

2. Express Emergency Shuttle Bus

This service is exclusively for departing passengers who go to the wrong terminal.

• Boarding points: T2 Exit 224, T3 Exit 326, T5 Exit 533.
• Departure rule: On-demand service.

3. Airside Transfer Shuttle Bus

Only available for connecting passengers staying inside the security-controlled airside area.

• Service hours: 04:40 until the last domestic departure flight of the day.
• Frequency: Every 15 minutes; priority arrangement for tight connecting flights.
• Boarding points: T2 Gate 29, T3 Gate H08, T5 Gate 131.

4. Metro Line 14

Metro Line 14 connects Airport West Station (for T2 & T3) and Airport Station (for T5).

• Travel time: around 8 minutes between the two airport metro stations.
• Fare policy: Regular fares apply for normal passengers. Free ride is available only for inter-terminal transfer passengers. You need to present your flight ticket or boarding pass to metro staff at the ticket counter to get free service.

  • Airport (T5) Station towards Xi’an North Railway Station: First train 06:04, Last train 22:24
