Xining Railway Station Guides
Opened in 1959, rebuilt in 2014, Xining Railway Station (Chinese name: 西宁站, Xining Zhan) is located in Chengdong District, 2.5km northeast of Xining downtown. It covers 61,000 square metres, and has 9 platforms, 21 railway tracks. As the first station on Qinghai-Tibet Railway, Xining Railway Station combines both ordinary passenger train station (denoted with letter Z/T/K) and high-speed train station(G/D/C series) that handles 75 high-speed trains and bullet trains per day, including Lanzhou-Wulumuqi High-speed Railway.

Departures
Step 1: Arrive at Xining Railway Station by taxi, car or bus 45 minutes before train departure.
Step 2: Get through the real-name ID check. Please show your passport to station staff at entrance of station. The staff will scan your passport to check your identity document and your booking.
Step 3: Get through security check and find the boarding gate (Ticket Check). The live information of gate is on the overhead screens in departure hall, and the boarding gate No. of your train will be in our confirmation email we send you.
Step 4: Have a seat near the gate to wait for check-in and boarding. The ticket check gate will be opened 20 - 15 minutes prior to the departure time.
Step 5: Ticket check. Please show your passport to station staff to check in . The gate will be closed 5 minutes before train departure

2 ticket offices are on 1F, and 2 ticket offices on 2F.
Do you need to collect paper tickets?
Since Dec 2019, the electronic tickets have been available on most high-speed and bullet train routes from or to Xining Railway Station.
It means international travellers can show their passports, likes Chinese ID to check in and board the train directly, and don't need to collect the paper tickets at ticket office.

Arrivals
