Dali Railway Station Guides
Opened in 1999, Dali Railway Station (Chinese name 大理站, Dali Zhan) is located 3km south of Dali downtown, and 18km southeast of Dali Ancient City. In the past, this station mainly served traditional trains. On July 01 2018, Dali Railway Station began to serve bullet trains. In Jan 2019, the station's renovation was finished. New facilities are included 2 elevators, 4 lifts and E-ticket check-in Kiosks . Dali railway station covers 3,400 square metre, and has 3 platforms, 10 railway tracks. Dali Railway Station is mainly serving 25 high-speed trains and bullet trains, including dali - Chuxiong - Dali - Lijiang intercity rail, Guangzhou to Dali, Guilin to Dali, Guiyang to Dali and Nanning to Dali high-speed trains.
Dali Railway Station has 3 floors. The entrance, exits and ticket offices are on 1F. Departures hall (Waiting rooms) are on 2F and 3F. The platforms are on 2F

Departures
Step 1: Get to Dali Railway Station by Taxi, bus or Car.
Step 2: At entrance, go through Security Check and real-name ID check to enter departure Hall by showing passport.
Step 3: Take the elevators or lifts to Waiting Room. Find the Boarding Gate (Ticket Check Gate). The gate No. will be in the confirmation email we send to you.
Step 4: Have a seat near the gate to wait for check-in and boarding. The boarding gate will be opened 20 - 15 minutes prior to the departure time.
Step 5: Ticket check. Please show your passport and confirmation No. to station staff to check in. The boarding gate will be closed 5 minutes before the train departs
Step 6: Find the platform of your train.

Do you need to collect train tickets?
Since Dec 2019, the electronic tickets have been available on most high-speed and bullet train routes from or to Dali Railway Station.
It means international travellers can show their passports, likes Chinese ID to check in and board the train directly, and don't need to collect the printed tickets at ticket office.
