Introducation of Shanxi Airlines

Shanxi Airlines Company Ltd. Was registered and established by the original Shanxi Airlines, Chang’an Airlines, and Hainan Airlines on July 6, 2001, after the approval of CAAC and Shanxi Provincial Government. Currently, the registered capital is 832 million RMB. The main operation of the company is air transportation of feeder and trunk lines.

The company has 11 aircraft including 2 737-400s,3 737-700s and 6 Dornier328-300s. In 2005,the company plans to introduce 3 Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Shanxi Airlines has over300 employees and is currently operating more than 60 routes, forming the net centered in Taiyuan, covering the capital cities, developed cities and 50 medium and small sized cities. The Vice Executive President of Hainan Airlines, and Chairman of Shanxi Airlines is Mr. Qin Jianmin. The Vice Chairman and General manager of Shanxi Airlines, one of the Board Directors of HNA Group is Mr. Li Qing.

After the reorganization, the company is enlarging its operation scale with increasing benefit and market shares. The route net covers the whole country. Now the company has the operation right of 9 aircraft. The passenger transport volume increased from 141,000 person time of 2001 to 1,101,700 person time of 2004. The cargo and mail transport volume increased from 8,330,200 tons of 2001 to 158,577,300 tons of 2004. In 4 years, the passenger transport volume, the total turnover, and the cargo and mail transport volume increased with the speed of 111.8%, 193.62%, and 496.26% respectively per year.

Shanxi Airilnes aims to be the largest regional air hinge of China Northern area and the assistant hinge of Beijing and Xi’an. Shanxi Airlines highlights the development of trunk routes and regional routes centered in Taiyuan, especially the air transportation network between Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Haikou, Shenzhen, Sanya, Kunming, Tianjin, Xi’an, Zhengzhou and other coastal cities. In 2002, HNA, Chang’an Airlines and China Xinhua Airlines began to use the uniform Flight Code “HU”, which marked the realization of network scale operation with the advantages of mutual supplement, source sharing, and common development. In 2005, Shanxi Airlines will enter the international market, opening the international routes from Taiyuan to Korean, Japan and the region of Hongkong on the base of the development of the local market.

Following the corporate culture of “Faithfulness, Kindness, Excellence, and Perfection”, Shanxi Airlines has passed ISO9001 International Quality System Certification, introduced the large color painted aircraft, launched the ticket auction activity, opened the 24-hour reservation and inquiry hotline.
